Z for Zoology at Alphabet Challenge

Hello friends. We’ve got a new letter over at Alphabet Challenge and it’s my turn to host, so Z for Zoology it is! I’ve got another card using the new ‘Scotland framer’ stamp set from ClarityCrafts and a starring role for the stag!

The first step was to stamp the Scotland framer onto a 5×5 card blank that I’d cut in half (it makes a perfect sized topper) using black Archival ink. I covered the centre with the pre-cut mask, then used the ‘moutains & hills’ masks to create the background scenery with ‘mowed lawn’ plus the clouds mask with ‘speckled egg’ for the sky.

I swapped the mask for the outer part so I could create a little scene within the word. I brushed the ‘speckled egg’ into the sky area, added a few small hills with the mask & ‘mowed lawn’, then stamped the thistle. After removing the mask, I added the stag and the Scots pine tree.

I then coloured the thistle with Pergaliner pencils and added a little ground under the stag by sponging ‘mowed lawn’ across a piece of torn copy paper. I felt it needed some birds in the sky (maybe eagles?!), so added them with a Sharpie pen, then popped the topper on a layer of black card & attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

So, what mammals, birds or fish will you feature on your cards? We’d love to see you in the Alphabet gallery!
