Seize the Birthday – tag and card combo

Welcome to my crafty blog and my guest designer offering for the next challenge at Seize the Birthday, where the ‘topping’ is to produce a coordinating tag & card. I thought the new ‘nested circle foliage doodle frame-it panel’ dies that ClarityCrafts launched this week would be ideal, especially for making the tag. I’m also going to share it with Addicted to Stamps & More for their birthdays theme.

So, I started by using one of the nested circle foliage dies to cut a mat in white card and then die cut the ‘periwinkle & friends’ into the centre. I used the next size up of the circle foliage dies to cut a second mat from Amazonia designer paper (this is a good way to use some of the busier patterns).

I glued the two mats together and attached them to a square of white card (I used half a 6×6 card blank), then added a layer of Amazonia companion paper and popped the whole piece onto a 7×7 card blank, finishing with a word sticker.

Onto the tag – I cut another mat wth one of the smaller nested circle foliage dies in white card, then used a plain circle die to cut an inner layer from the Amazonia designer paper. I part cut the ‘periwinkle & friends’ die into a scrap of white card, trimmed out the small flowers and glued them onto the tag. I added another word sticker, then punched a small hole in the top and threaded white twine through it.

So there’s my coordinating tag and birthday card for Seize the Birthday! We’d love to see what you create – and if you don’t want to make a tag then just play along with ‘anything goes’.

  4. What a great paper to choose for the background of your card and tag Deborah! I love that die cut and the way you left it white to really contrast with the paper. Vicky x
