lily frame

Welcome to my crafty blog and the final one of my DT samples for ClarityCrafts new ‘summer tags and frames’ stamp set. I’ve mixed a few techniques on this one while keeping it CAS and am sharing it with TicTacToe (taking the right hand column of green, patterned paper & die cut) and Simply Clean & Simple.

I started by die cutting one of the nested circle doodle frame-it aperture dies into a square of white card and then stamped the lily frame into the centre of it. For once I’d got organised and chosen my patterned paper first (Waimea Falls), so matched the Pergaliner pencils to it – I usually colour an image first then spend the next half hour trying to match the paper!! I went with blending pink & red on the flowers, then used two shades of green – one for the frame and a darker one for the leaves.

I added a drop shadow to the flowers and frame with grey Polochromo pencils, stamped the sentiment into the centre and mounted the white card onto the Waimea Falls card that I’d cut to square. I created a frame on the front of a 7×7 card blank with the largest square embedder and then attached the topper.

Thanks for dropping in. I’ve been caling these flowers lilies all the time I’ve been using them, but now I look at them again I think they might be hibiscus – not that it really matters!
