golden gift

Hello crafty friends. I’m back after a short break yesterday – life has got seriously busy as we start to run up to Christmas! I spent the day out yesterday meeting various friends so no time for crafting let alone blogging! Today’s card features the November stamp from Clarity‘s Craft Club – ‘wrapped in lace’ designed by the brilliant Linda Williams. It’s such a gorgeous design that I’ve kept the rest of the card very simple so the gift can just sing out. I took the colours from AAA Cards and the birthday theme from Happy Little Stampers – I’ve got a few friends with birthdays in the New Year, but this image would work for Christmas, weddings, lots of occasions!

I started with the background, cutting a white mat with one of the ‘nested square hearts frame-it panel’ dies, mounting it on a layer of gold card and then onto a 6×6 card blank.

I stamped the gift image with WOW’s clear ink and heat embossed it with their gold metallic powder. I initially shaded the ribbon with a gold Polychromo pencil but it didn’t give enough contrast to the present, so I went over it with a black Pergaliner pencil (B2), leaving the inner parts of the ribbon gold. I fussy cut it, added some scrap bits of card onto the back and attached it to the card front.

An ‘occasions sentiment’ stamped in black finished it perfectly.

Thanks for dropping in. I’ve got another busy afternoon out and about but I’ll be back tomorrow with another card for you.

  1. What a lovely embossed present and the “black ribbon” works so well topping the present, I also love the golden heart border too. Thanks for playing along with us at AAA Cards this week. Last but not least “Seasons Greetings”!
