a clever corner!

Hello crafty friends! Today’s card features an older stamp set from ClarityCrafts that’s a great bargain in their current Gray Friday sale (Barbara Gray doesn’t do black, obviously!) I’ve only used a single stamp on this, the one from the top left corner of the set, picking up the colours from HandStampedSentiments, the leaves from AAA cards and the theme from TGIF

I started with one of Clarity’s small stencil card squares and drew a centred pencil line from each side to help me line up the stamp. I inked it up with ‘shadow grey’ and ‘fern green’ Archival inks and then stamed the fiirst one in place, lining the stamp edges up with the pencil lines which gave me a narrow margin. I then repeated the process three more times to form the centre block.

I rubbed out the pencil lines and used one of my trusty Pergaliner pencils to shade in the petals in the image.

I felt it needed a frame, so inked up the leafy edge of the stamp with the ‘fern green’ and repeat stamped it around the edge of the card, starting in the centre on each side (helpfully, the card was just three inages wide.) I used a square embedder for the frame, attached the topper in the centre and finished with one of the ‘petite sentiments’ in the ‘shadow grey’ Archival.

Thanks for dropping in – I’ll be back tomorrow with another creation!
