Welcome to my crafty blog and our mid-challenge reminder about the ‘add a hat’ theme for Christmas Craft Creations, where I’m guest designer this month. This time I’ve gone with ‘Jim’s Christmas jumper accessories’ from ClarityCrafts – I wonder how many woolly hats, scarves & gloves will be wrapped up this season! I picked up the top row of blue, stripes and monochrome from TicTacToe‘s grid and the seasonal theme from Inkspirational
I started with the small square ‘backdrop’ stamp, inspired by a previous blog of Barbara Gray’s, sponging ‘speckled egg’ & ‘stormy sky’ Distress Oxides onto it, spritzing it with water and stamping it onto one of Clarity’s small square stencil cards. I then added the hat and mittens from the stamp set with ‘watering can’ Archival ink. Out then came my trusty Pergaliner pencils to shade them in, followed by grey Polychromos to create a drop shadow. I tried to leave the stripes on the hat and mittens white.
I added two of the ‘penguins mini sentiments’, then mounted the topper onto a layer of dark blue card and attached it to a 5×5 card blank.
There’s still time to get your Christmas hats out – our challenge runs until Tuesday 12 December.
Ahh, such a cute card! You know A LOT of people will be getting those for Christmas, lol!

Who doesn’t love a woolly hat? This one looks toasty with its matching mittens too. Essential for the season!

What a great card idea – love the shading and omitting the white – really makes them pop – as does the shadow. xx

What a cute design, Deborah and indeed, how many hats, gloves will be given during this Christmas season? More than plenty, I suspect. They certainly make a charming design for a holiday card and I love your square card design Thanks for being guest DT for CCC this month!
