snowflake stencil

Welcome to my crafty blog and another look at one of the aperture stencils from ClarityCrafts recent collection – this time it’s the ‘snowflake’ one. I thought I’d share this with a few challenegs as well – Global Design Project are looking for patterns this week, Christmas Craft Creations want monochrome cards and this opbviously picks up the optional twist of ‘stencil’ from Happy Little Stampers‘ Christmas challenge.

I started by attaching the stencil to a square of white card (cut to fit a 6×6 card blank) with low tack tape, also adding in the centre circle that comes with the stencil. I then brushed ‘blueprint sketch’, ‘mermaid lagoon’, ‘salvaged patina’ & ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Oxides through stencil, spotting the colours around and blending them together. After removing the stencil I repeat stamped the little snowflake from the ‘SHAC bauble – merry Christmas’ stamp set into the centre, using the same colours.

I glued the topper onto the card front, then cut a strip of white card and stamped the sentiment from the ‘pine trees festive round’ set in ‘blueprint sketch’, then simply attached it across the card front.

It won’t come as any surprise to you that I do love a bit of ink blending, either with masks or stencils!
