Hello there and welcome to another card featuring one of the new Rectangle Aperture A5 stencils & Word Chain stamps from ClarityCrafts. Once again, I’ve chosen to just highlight part of the stencil, but these are so versatile with the aperture that you can stamp a sentiment straight into.

For this one, I cut a piece of kraft card to fit a 5×5 card blank and then sponged ‘picket fence’ Distress Ink through the stencil across top, using low tack tape to mask the edge of the panel. Once the ink was fully dry, I coloured the flowers & leaves with Pergaliner pencils

I added the ‘sorry’ sentiment from the Word Chain Sympathy set in black, outlined the card with a black Sharpie & attached it to a 5×5 card blank

I haven’t done this before, but I quite like the effect of the colouring over the white ink – it has a bit of a retro chintzy feel. I’m heading off now to share this card with Happy Little Stampers for their stencil challenge and with Stencil Fun, although I didn’t take their optional theme of butterflies.

So pretty! I’m really in love with that font! Too bad shipping across the pond is so expensive… I might’ve added these stamps to my stash! I still might if they become available in the US!

Thanks! There is a Claritystamp store on Amazon US – I think there are some of the older word chain stamps on there. Worth checking out xx

What a great technique. I like the colours you have chosen – and the masking of part of the stencil. xx

Using the white ink under the colored pencils makes the colors “pop” more on the kraft. Love the effect. Thanks for joining us at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge.
