floral birthday blessings

Hello again! I’m back with a second card featuring one of the new Rectangle Aperture A5 stencils that ClarityCrafts have launched today. These stencils are made from thin plastic, so it’s easy to get very detailed images from them.

I decided to combine the stencil with some masking for my layout, and used a die to cut a small square from Clarity’s mask material. I used the inner square to line up the position on a piece of card, then placed the outer part around it and removed the inner piece. I found this was the easiest way to get the aperture mask exactly where I wanted it.

I then stencilled the first corner of the flowers into the aperture using ‘ripe persimmon’ & ‘lucky clover’ Distress Oxides. I then repeated the process of placing the mask & stencilling the flowers to give me three quarters of the design, using a different corner from the stencil each time.

I replaced the mask material for the 4th square, but this time stamped the sentiments into it, using the ‘bijou art nouveau’ stamp set.

I used one of the Frame-it aperture dies to add a border around the central images, then mounted the card onto a layer of green Waimea Falls companion paper before attaching it to a 7×7 card blank.

I’m sharing this card with a couple of challenges – it picks up the colours and the flowers from the moodboard at Hand Stamped Sentiments and my square card fits the theme from Seize the Birthday
