Welcome to my second post today with the new challenge at As You See It. Joanne has given us a great recipe board this time – for these challenges you need to incorporate all the elements in your card. I decided to go with ClarityCrafts‘ ‘treescape’ die (one of my favourite images) and their Antarctica designer paper for this one, and am also going to share it with Happy Little Stampers‘ dies challenge.

I found a piece of the Antarctica paper which has lovely yellows on it. I cut it down to fit a 6×6 card blank and then used the outer part of a circle mask to create a sun by sponging ‘mustard seed’ Distress Oxide through it.

I cut the ‘treescape’ die into another piece of the same Antarctica paper, this time using the reverse side as I knew the colours would then tone in, I’d remembered to put a layer of thin adhesive sheet on the back of the paper before die cutting it (for once!), so was able to stick it straight onto the background piece.

I ran a Sharpie around the edge of the background paper and then attached it to a 6×6 card blank. I finished with one of Clarity’s word stickers and three yellow enamel dots.

So just to check I’ve got all the elements from Joanne’s recipe: thank you sentiment on the word sticker, circle from the sponged sun, Antarctica patterned paper, yellow enamel dots, ‘treescape’ die cut and shades of yellow on the background paper. Job done! So how are you inspired to use these elements on a card? There’s lots of scope with this recipe – hop on over to As You See It to check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the design team and then come and play along with us!

That die is just amazing and the sunny scene you’ve created behind it shows it off so well! Thanks for sharing the ‘how to’ as well.

Those trees look so moody in that fab DSP Deborah and the yellow sun behind shines through beautifully – your scene captures the elements of the board beautifully!
