bijou bauble – joy to the world

Hello crafty friends. Barbara Gray is back on Create & Craft TV this afternoon with some more Claritystamp Christmas goodies, so I thought I’d share a card made using the Bijou Joy to the World Bauble stamp set. I’m going to share it as a second offering with both Christmas Craft Creations and Inkspirational challenges.

I started with a piece of smooth white card that I’d cut to fit a 5×7 card blank. I stamped the outline image onto the card in clear ink and then heat embossed it with WOW’s super fine silver powder. I sponged ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide onto the infill stamp to add in the background – I find it easiest to use my stamping platform for this, as I can line the image up against the outline before adding the ink. I also stamped the chain from the set in the ‘chipped sapphire’.

You can probabaly see in the photo above that I managed to get an inky smudge at the side of the bauble – no idea how that happened! I managed to lift some of it with an ink rubber, and then disguised the remainder with a few snowflakes! I used several of the small snowflake & star stamps from the new SHAC bauble sets, stamping them in groups around the bauble and heat embossing with the silver powder.

I finished by lightly blending some of the ‘chipped sapphire’ around the card edges and then attaching it to a 5×7 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. Barbara will be on TV at 3pm, with lots more inspiration to get started on your Christmas cards!

  1. Don’t you love it when you make something and then find a smudge? You did a good job of disguising it and your card is very pretty. You are certainly making some headway with your Xmas stash.
