Hello again! After my long break I’m back with a second card today, this time for the new recipe at As You See It Challenge, which I put together.

Funnily enough, my starting point for this design was one of the last items I added to it – the die cut frame was sitting in my stash, just waiting for a reason to be used! The first thing, though, was to creatre the background. I pulled out the clouds mask from ClarityCrafts and blended ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across it, then used the hills mask and ‘bundled sage’ to create the ground.

Having popped a strip of masking tape to sit where the edge of the frame would be, I stamped one of the bunches from Clarity’s ‘floral delights – bouquets and vases’, using black Versafine Clair ink.

As my background was done in light colours, I could get away with shading the bouquet with Pergaliner pencils – I used three blues for the flowers together with a couple of greens for the centres and the leaves.

I’d previously cut the frame from a piece of card that I’d blended inks on to using Clarity’s nested square doodle frame-it die, so just needed to dab a little glue on the back and stick it to the card front. The final touch was a little blue blow that’s been sitting in my stash for more years than I care to admit!

So how are you inspired by our recipe? You’ve got two weeks to plan a design and play along with us – just remember that your card needs to include all five elements on the challenge photo.
