Clarity Craft Club lookback – butterfly tangle die

Welcome to my regular Sunday trip into the back issues of Clarity’s Craft Club. Today it’s the turn of the ‘butterfly tangle’ die from July 2021.

The ‘blue butterfly’ inspiration photo and colours at The Card Concept were perfect for today’s card, which I’m also going to share with Happy Little Stampers‘ ‘anything goes with dies’ challenge.

Before getting the die into action, I started with Clarity’s ‘butterfly tree’ stamp, using sponges to blend ‘mowed lawn’ and ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Oxides onto it. I stamped the image onto a square of white card, then sponged more of the ‘mowed lawn’ across a mask to create the ground.

I stamped ‘happy birthday’ from the ‘essential sentiments’ set in ‘cobalt blue’ Archival ink, added a layer of navy blue card and attached to a 6×6 card blank.

I then cut the ‘butterfly tangle’ out of a small piece of white card and trimmed the butterfly out of the circle. I blended ‘chipped sapphire’ and ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Oxides onto it and popped glue along it’s body to attach it to the card.

I like the way it flows from the butterflies on the stamp – it gives the whole card added perspective.
