limes!

Welcome to my crafty blog and another outing for Stampin’ Up!’s ‘sweet citrus’ set. It was the obvious choice for me when I saw the colours at Color Hues – what else was I going to use for ‘lime’? I paired it with the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches

Not too much to talk through with this step by step, but I have got a handy little tip that I picked up! I started by gluing a strip of SU’s ‘dandy designs’ paper across a 5×7 card blank, then stamped the sentiment above it in ‘parakeet party’.

I stamped two of the citrus fruits in ‘parakeet party’ to then cut out and emboss. Now here’s a neat trick I spotted on social media (and hadn’t worked out before) – the die for the fruit pieces fits into the embossing folder so that you can do both at the same time! Up til now I’ve been cutting them out first and then lining up the pieces in the folder.

Having cut out both limes, I attached them to the card front and finished with a few ‘parakeet party’ matte resin dots.

I do love this colour combination – right in my happy zone!

  1. This is one of those ‘so simple yet so effective’ cards Deborah – those embossed limes really pop! Great discovery re the hybrid element (FYI the tree rings work the same way, in case you missed that one too 😉 ) Thanks for playing along with our current sketch challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches!
