Hello crafty friends. Today’s card uses one of ClarityCrafts’ ‘floral friends’ three-way overlay stamp sets – the daisy. I decided it would work with the sketch from Atlantic Hearts and picked up the palette from Creative Colour challenges – maybe you woudn’t immediately think of flowers with these tones, but then you haven’t see the state of the ones in the pots on my decking!!)

I started with the background and blended ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across Clarity’s clouds mask to pick up the seven stripes in the sketch. I was a bit heavy handed with the ink in places, so lightly spritzed it with water and mopped with paper towel to lift a bit off – what it actually did was spread the ink a little more and blur it, which I quite like! Once dry I popped it onto an A6 card blank.

I stamped the outline image from the daisy set with ‘potting soil’ Archival ink, then covered it over with the matching stencil and blended ‘broken china’ into the background. There is a stamp in the set that will colour in the background, but I decided to blend the ink so it was the same depth as that for the clouds. I then used the infill stamp to add ‘mustard seed’ to the flowers and ‘walnut stain’ to the stems & leaves, using a small sponge to ink up the stamp. Once done, I cut it out with a nested circle die.

I attached the topper to the card front, gluing a small piece of scrap card behind it for dimension, the finished with a word sticker from Clarity’s KISS collection.

I’ve been in two minds about whether I like this or not – I think I do!
So pretty!

Super clever way to tone down some of the stencilled color. I really like the blurred effect. Beautiful card. Thanks for joining us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
