Hello there and welcome to day 3 of my 12 Days of Clarity, working back through their 2022 Craft Club stamps. March brought us the floral panel stamp, but I’ve only used part of it on today’s card. I don’t often think of partial stamping, but I did a recent online class with Phillipa Lewis where she got several different designs from just using part of a larger stamp – makes it so much more versatile.

I went for a slimline card this time (UK DL size) and started with Clarity’s ‘framework squares’ stencil. I lined up the top three squares onto the card front and masked around them with low tack tape, then brushed ‘speckled egg’ Distress Oxide through them. I removed the stencil, repositioned the tape along the bottom of the squares, then taped the sides of the left hand one. I stamped the top part of the floral panel into that square with black Versafine Clair ink. I did the same on the right hand square, then stamped the panel onto the central one but didn’t mask the sides, so the flowers extended beyond it.

I went back to my Pergaliner pencils to shade the flowers, leaving the daisy petals white.

I used a fine micron pen to doodle a deckled edge around each square (I can’t do straight lines!) using it to add in the little bit of stamping that was msising from the left hand flowers at the same time. I stamped the sentiment along the lower edge then went back to the micron pen to add in a couple of birds in the left hand square.

I thought the flowers along the bottom of the squares looked like window boxes. I’ve got several friends with January birthdays so this will be winging it’s way to one of them any day now.
