S for Snow at Alphabet Challenge

Welcome to my crafty blog and our next letter at Alphabet Challenge. We’re now on to S and Helen has chosen ‘snow’ as the theme – perfect for this time of year!

CAS Colours & Sketches are celebrating their 500th challenge and have sent the task of making a seasonal card from any of the 2022 sketches or colours. I’ve gone back to January 11th for this sketch, which I’ve rotated into a portrait orientation. I’m also linking up with Can You Handle The Pressure – their theme is always to use an embossing folder and this time they’ve added an optional twist of Christmas.

I was playing around with some designer parchment from Clarity and discovered that it worked really well when run through an embossing folder. I used Stampin’ Up!’s ‘wintry’ EF on this piece – it ahs lovely snowflake design which embossed really well onto the parchment.

I cut a frame using a rectangle die and glued it onto the front of the parchment, then attached to a 6×6 card blank.

I finished by stamping the sentiment from the retired ‘snowflake wishes’ set, fussy cut it and glued it to the card front. It really didn’t need any other embellishment.

So, how are you inspired by our ‘S for snow theme’? There’s more ideas at Alphabet Challenge from the design team and we’d love to have you play along with us. Our challenge runs until Thursday 29 December.
