R for reduce (CAS) at Alphabet Challenge

Welcome to my crafty blog and the next letter from Alphabet Challenge. We’ve now reached R and Veronika has chosen ‘reduce’ as the theme, i.e. make a CAS (clean and simple) card.

You all know that’s completely in my happy place, so here’s another Christmas card using the ‘merriest moments’ set from Stampin’ Up! I’ve combined the layout from Atlantic Hearts with the palette from Colour INKspiration for this one

I started with some of the leaves from ‘merriest moments’ (the small holly, the leafy spray and the small fir branch), used my ‘parakeet party’ Write marker to ink them and repeat stamped to form a wreath. I attached the card square to a 5×5 card blank.

I stamped the large & small poinsettia in ‘sweet sorbet’, die cut them and glued them together. I added a small centre in white card and attached the poinsettia to the card front.

To finish, I stamped one of the sentiments from the retired ‘stars are shining’ set in ‘sweet sorbet’, fussy cut it and glued it onto the card.

So come on over and share your CAS cards with us at Alphabet Challenge. As always, there’s great inspiration from the rest of the design team to get you started and you’ve got until Thursday 15 December to join in.

  5. What a great winter/Christmas card, I’m glad to hear you enjoyed making it. I like how you managed to create such a festive project by using only two colours. The different branches of green make a lovely wreath, and the poinsettia bloom is such an eye-catcher. The sentiiment is a classic and absolutely perfect, too. I also love all the white, I think it resembles the snow that again adds to the winter atmosphere.

    Hugs, Veronika
