watercoloured happiness

Welcome to my crafty blog. I’m back with another card using the ‘happiness abounds’ set from Stampi’ Up!, picking up the sketch from Atlantic Hearts challenge and the delicious palette from Global Design Project. I’ll also be sharing it with Happy Little Stampers as a second offering for their watercolour challenge.

I started with a piece of the retired ‘Ever Eden’ paper, which is a lovely ombre wash of ‘soft succulent’. (I have to confess, I hadn’t previously noticed it on the reverse of one of the papers!) I trimmed it to fit a 5×7 card blank, cut the pretty inset from the ‘blooming happiness’ dies into it and attached it to the card front.

I stamped the large flower and a couple of leaves from ‘happiness abounds’ onto a piece of watercolour card. I coloured the flower using a waterbrush and ink from a couple of SU Write markers in ‘sweet sorbet’ and ‘polished pink’, with ‘soft succulent’ for the leaves – I just scribbled the marker pens on my silicone craft mat and picked the ink up with the brush. Once dry, I die cut them and attached to the card front on foam pads.

I stamped the sentiment onto a die cut banner in the ‘soft succulent’ (you can ink stamps using the Write markers) and popped that onto foam pads. A few ‘sweet sorbet’ resin dots were the final touch.

Thanks for dropping in. I’ll be back with another card tomorrow.
