L is for leaves

Hello there. Well it’s a very sombre day here in the UK, following the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Thinsg feel a bit strange, while at the same time so much is just continuing and it’s time for a new theme over at Alphabet Challenge – we’ve reached L and Debbie has opted for ‘leaves’, which is perfect for autumn.

My design team card features another image from Stampin’ Up!’s ‘forever fern set, and I’ve again gone for a variegated look on the leaves (I’m very taken with this effect!) I took the colours from CAS Colours & Sketches, partly inspired as well by the bottom right image in The Paper Players‘ theme photo board.

I started with the smallest image from Claritystamp’s ‘by the seaside’ mixed impressions stamps, which I stamped onto a square of white card using ‘dried marigold’ Distress Oxide. I then used my stamping platform to add the leafy spray, using SU’s Write markers in the three colours. I started with the ‘gorgeous grape’ on the stems & base of the leaves, then the ‘polished pink’ in the centre of the leaves, and finally ‘mango melody’ on the tips.

I added the sentiment in the ‘gorgeous grape’ and attached the card to a 5×5 blank. Job done!

So do come and share your leafy cards with us at Alphabet Challenge – it’s always great to see what everyone comes up with!
