festive gnomes

Welcome to my crafty blog and a first outing for the new gnome stamps and dies from Claritystamp. I just love these little chaps! I’ve taken the layout from CAS Colours & Sketches‘ current sketch and gone for a less than traditional Christmas colour scheme using the palette from Color Throwdown. The ‘festive’ theme from Time Out pulls it all together

I started with a 5×7 card blank and embossed a frame onto it with one of Clarity’s embedders (I talked about how to do this in my ‘ladybirds’ post a few days ago). I then blended ‘mustard seed’ Distress Oxide into the centre of the frame and stamped ‘Christmas’ across the lower part using black Versafine Clair ink (my new favourite!)

I stamped out five of the little letterbox gnomes (there are 9 in the set) onto white card and coloured them using Pergaliner pencils in mustard, navy and turquoise, before die cutting them. I then stamped the letters for ‘happy’ into the letterboxes, using the Alphabet set that’s part of the gnome collection.

All I then needed to do was add them to the card front using foam pads, making sure they were centred in the frame and sitting level.

Thanks for dropping in. I spent the afternoon catching up with a crafting buddy over Zoom and managed to batch make 18 Christmas cards (as well as this one). More about those another day!

  1. How sweet is this! Love the gnomes and the way you have them dressed alike in this CAS design! Great Festive card there. Thank you for taking time out and joining us. Hugs ~ Ishani.
