Hello crafty friends. It’s time for a new challenge over at Sparkles blog, where Caz has gone with ‘at the beach’ as this month’s theme.

I’ve CASE’d a card I spotted on Pinterest, using Stampin’ Up!’s ‘friends are like seashells’ set. I started by masking off a border around a piece of white card, then blended ‘broken china’ & ‘pumice stone’ Distress Oxides onto the centre. I stamped the little pebbles across the sand in ‘potting soil’ Archival ink, and added the sentiment at the top. I attached the whole piece to an A6 card blank I’d made from SU’s ‘crumb cake’ card.

I used the large die and a scrap piece fo paper to cut out three seashells, stamped each of them in the ‘potting soil’ and then ran them through the co-ordinating embossing folder to give them texture. I fussy cut them and blended a little more of the ‘pumice stone’ across them – I was trying to get that lovely tortoiseshell effect that you get on some shells. A few foam pads attached them to the front of the card.

I finished by brushing Wink of Stella on the shells, to make them shimmer – it never shows up in a photo!

Thanks for dropping in. Come and share your beachy cards with us at Sparkles – our challenge runs until 14th September. In the meantime, I’m heading over to CASology to share this with their ‘sand’ challenge.

Love this!
