Hello crafty friends. I’m back with another generic card today, this time using one of the Cherry Green ‘butterflies & moths’ from Claritystamp. I’ve taken the sketch from Atlantic Hearts and teamed it with the colours from CAS Colours & Sketches and the ‘butterfly’ theme from Less is More
So I started with a piece of card trimmed to fit a 5×7 card bank and ran a piece of masking tape along the top and bottom edges. I stamped the butterfly in black Archival, then covered it with the pre-cut reusable mask that comes with the stamps (so useful!) I then used Clarity’s ‘clouds’ mask with ‘salty ocean’ Distress Oxide and a blending brush to create the sky around the butterfly.
I coloured the butterfly with Pergaliner pencils in a dark blue, light purple & light blue, using a dry Pergamano nib to smooth out the colours so they blended together.
I ran a border along the bottom edge of the clouds with a black Micron pen, then added the sentiment before attaching the card to the card blank.
I do like this butterfly image – it’s so pretty. It’s funny how you find a certain stamp in a set that you keep going back to – this is one of those for me.

Love the detail on that butterfly Deborah and I especially like the addition of the doodled line – a neat touch that is a great way to add extra detail and interest to a CAS card. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Colours & Sketches this week!
