Welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card uses some of the new foilable die cuts from Julie Hickey Designs – having resisted for a while I am a real convert for foiling now! I’ve used the sketch from The Paper Players for my layout, together with the gorgeous colours from As You See It

I started with a couple of pieces of Stampin’ Up!’s new in-colours designer paper. I trimmed a piece of ‘starry sky’ to fit a 6×6 card blank and then cut a strip of ‘orchid oasis’ to sit on it. I was going to use a contrasting design at first, but turned the paper over to the same pattern and decided I liked the effect!

I foiled one of the flowers from the ‘fabulous florals’ set in white, and then watercoloured it with Distress Oxides in ‘picked raspberry’ and ‘dried marigold’. Once dry I glued it onto the card front.

I then foiled one of the new sentiments in dark blue and attached it using foam pads. A few co-ordinating Glossies finished the card off.

This card will be winging it’s way to a friend who’s feeling under the weather having just tested positive for Covid for the second time! Here’s a close up of the sentiment, so you can see the gorgeous blue sheen on it.

Gorgeous design, Deb, I so love the subtle color on the stem, and what a perfect use of vellum! This all sings beautifully together! Thanks so much for playing at As You See It!

Thanks Heather. I haven’t used any vellum! 😀

Beautiful work, Deborah! I love how you’ve kept the blues in the background paper and used the pinks for the flower. That shiny sentiment is really pretty! Thanks for getting colourful with us at As You See It!

Love the two-tone blue-on-blue background Deborah – I thought it was vellum until I read your post! The darker colours highlight your pretty bloom beautifully. Great job with this week’s colours – thanks for sharing over at As You See It this week!

Lovely, Deborah! I like the blues in the background with the pinks to the fore. Great technique – i’ve never tried foiling before. At first, I thought you’d resist embossed. Thanks for joining us again at As You See It Challenge.
