one design, two cards

Welcome to my crafty blog, and a bit of a two-for-one today. I’ve taken the same design and made it in two colourways, which is a great way of getting extra mileage out of stamp sets. I’ve used the ‘wonderful world’ stamp set, which is part of Stampin’ Up!’s current Saleabration offer.

I started with the card on the left, taking the right hand diagonal from TicTacToe‘s grid.

I used the outer part of a large circle mask and Distress Oxides in ‘mustard seed’ & ‘squeezed lemonade’ to blend a circle into the centre of a square of white card. I stamped the flowers across the circle in black Archival ink, and added the sentiment form the retired ‘art gallery’ set. All I then needed to do was run a black Sharpie around the edge of the card and attach it to a 5×5 card blank.

For the second card I picked up the colours from Seize the Birthday

I again blended a circle onto a square of thard, this time using ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide. I then used my Stampin’ Up! Write markers in ‘gorgeous grape’ and ‘granny apple green’ to ink the stamp before adding it to the card. This is a great way to get different colours onto one stamp – so much easier than with an ink pad. I addded another sentiment from ‘art gallery’, then mounted it on a square of purple card before attaching it to the card blank. A few blue Glossies were the final touch.

And that’s all there is to it! See you tomorrow
