birthday digger

Hello again! A second card today – this one is for a friend to send her 3 year old grandson who’s a big fan of construction vehicles! I got a new set of stamps & dies for this one, ‘farming fun’ by Newton’s Nook, which are just brilliant. I took the layout from CAS Colours & Sketches and added in the elements from the left hand column on TicTacToe‘s grid (CAS, birthday, die cuts), plus the ‘clouds’ and ‘stitching’ from Just Add Ink. I’m also going to share it as a second offering for Addicted to CAS‘ ‘kids’ theme.

I started by masking the edges around the top of a 5×7 card blank, then used Clarity’s clouds mask and ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide to add the sky. I cut a piece of SU’s ‘parakeet party’ card and shaped the top edge using one of the retired ‘quite curvy’ dies. I added a line of fake stitching below the dots with a micron pen to highlight the edge and then attached it to the card front.

I stamped the digger from the set, coloured it with my Pergaliner pencils and die cut it. I sat it on the card front using foam pads.

Final touch with the sentiment and it was done!

That’s me done for the evening! See you tomorrow.

  1. I love your bright card Deborah! My boys would have loved that card when they were small – and probably would have taken the digger off to play with! Thanks for coming to play with my board at Tic Tac Toe this week! Vicky x

  3. CUUUUUTE! That little digger is just adorable, and it looks like he’s got a big field in which to dig! But he’s got blue skies, so he’s in good shape! Just adorable! Thanks for playing with our grid this week with this fun card!
