Hello crafty friends. I’m back with another card using one of Claritystamp’s linocut stamps (‘daisy’) after watching Barbara Gray on selly telly this morning. I’ve just used one of the stamp pair this time – more of that in a minute. I thought the colours from Color Throwdown would be ideal for this image, and I’ll also be sharing it with Just Add Ink for their ‘flowers’ theme and Less is More where they’ve challenged us to produce one layer cards using just one image.

As I said above, I just used one of the stamps in the ‘linocut daisy’ set – the outline image, rather than the infill one. I used my stamping platform to line it up and inked it using ‘mowed lawn’ Distress Oxide. I removed the ink from the flower heads with a damp piece of kitchen towl and then stamped it onto a 5×7 card blank.

I then added the ink to the flower heads – ‘festive berries’, ‘picked raspberry’ and ‘mustard seed’ using a cotton bud. I did try it with a sponge, but it was difficult to be accurate enough, so I thought of using a cotton bud, which did work! Never tried that before!

My new embedders have arrived from Clarity, so I used one of them to emboss a frame around the image and then added the sentiment from one of the ‘word sticker stamps’ sets, again in the ‘mowed lawn’.

Very pleased with how this turned out. Will have to try using the infill stamp on its own next time.
Beautiful! GREAT color palette!

Wow, it looks great, and the effort taken to make the image multi-coloured is well worth it. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink.
