painted rainbow

Welcome to my crafty blog and another clean & simple card. I do like this sentiment from Claritystamp’s ‘mini words of wisdom’ set, and used it to combine three current challenges. I’m back to playing along with Just Us Girls after my guest designer slot last month – their theme is ‘paintbrush’, but I don’t have any art themed stamps so used a paintbrush to create my rainbow. I picked up the colours from AAA cards, plus Addicted to CAS‘ theme of ‘stripes’.

I painted my rainbow onto a small square of card using Distress Oxides in ‘shaded lilac’, salvaged patina’, ‘squeezed lemonade’ and ‘kitsch flamingo’.

I stamped the Maya Angelou quote in the middle of the card square, and then coloured in the letters with Pergaliner pencils, following the palette from the rainbow.

I blended the ‘shaded lilac’ around the edge of another square of white card, mounted the topper onto it and attached it to a 5×5 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. I’ve got a very crafty few days coming up – I’m leading a craft group tomorrow afternoon, and then heading off to Claritystamp’s Open Day on Saturday. It’s been three years since their last event so I think there’ll be a lot of excitement at seeing crafty friends again!
