lovely friend

Hello crafty friends. I’ve been playing with my gel plate and alcohol inks today, using the latest stencil from Claritystamp’s Craft Club thanks to the inspiration from Barbara Gray on the project sheet. I’ve incoproporated three challenges into this card: Festive Friday are celebrating National Best Friends Day (it’s on June 8th, if you didn’t already know) and I’ve taken pink, friendship statement & swirls from their inspo list. TGIF want us to add frames to our creations, and I thought this would also make a good second offering to Seize the Birthday‘s stencil challenge

I started with the swirly stencil from the Craft Club, laid it on my gel plate and dabbed ‘wild plum’ and ‘stream’ alcohol inks over it using felt dabbers. I then sprayed a piece of Clarity’s coated card stock with alcohol blending solution, laid the inky stencil on it and ran it through my Gemini embosser. If you want more detail on how to do this, Clarity have a great YouTube video here

I trimmed it down and cut a frame for it in teal card, using two of Clarity’s square nested dies. I attached it to a 6×6 card blank, and then added one of the square ‘frame-it’ diecuts in white.

I stamped one of the new ‘sweet sentiments’ from Julie Hickey Designs in ‘tenacious teal’ Artistry ink and cut it with a circle die. I cut a frame for it in the teal card with two of the nested circles, glued one of the ‘frame-it’ circle dies on top and then attached both to the card front.

I decided it didn’t need anything else adding. I’m now off to pull a print from the gel plate with the alcohol ink that dried onto it. I’ll be back tomorrow with another card.

  1. Hello Deborah!
Your card today is so pretty! Love the colors and the designs.
I watched the video about the Clarity products and the press machine. I think this could be a craft I would like to learn to do! I may be expensive to start so maybe there is a basic set up you could recommend!
I am off for vacation! Emma is graduating Medical School this Sunday and will start her surgical residency in a couple of weeks. Then I am off to Ohio to visit my mother, sister and seeing some friends I have not seen since moving to California 25 years ago. It will be a whirl wind trip but looking forward to the visiting.
Stay well! Congratulations on the Queen’s celebration!
