pastel rainbow

Hello crafty friends. Today’s card uses the ‘daisy buttons’ stamp set from Julie Hickey designs and is inspired by the current challenges at Fusion and Less is More. I picked up the colours from Fusion’s photo to create a non-traditional rainbow panel on my card.

I stamped one of the small ‘daisy buttons’ onto a 5×7 card blank and watercoloured it with Distress Oxides. I also blended the colours across a strip of card (‘picked raspberry’, ‘dried marigold’, ‘salvaged patina’ & ‘shaded lilac’) and attached that over the stamped image.

I fussy cut one of the larger ‘daisy buttons’ after watercolouring it with the Distress Oxides and attached it on the rainbow panel, finishing with one of the sentiments from the set.

It was a bit tricky blending the inks lengthways across the strip of card as I needed to keep each area fairly narrow, but it was worth doing. I think it looks nicer than if they ran side to side.
