Hello there – it’s time for this week’s new challenge at Just Us Girls, so here’s my third offering as their guest designer for May. I have to say I struggled with this one a bit – these shades are a bit out of my comfort zone! I decided to go with Claritystamp’s ‘linocut teasels’ and added in the layout from Freshly Made Sketches.

I trimmed a piece of white card to fit a 6×6 card blank and stamped the two teasels and the flower in the set using ‘pebble shore’ Archival ink. I put the outer part of a circle mask over each of the flower heads and blended a mixture of ‘broken china’ & chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxides over each one.

I stamped the fillers for each flower head using ‘tea rose’ Archival ink, mounted the card onto a layer that I’d blended more of the blues onto, and attached it to the card blank.

I added several of the ‘chatter’ lines around the images (that’s what Barbara Gray said they’re called!) and finished with one of Clarity’s word stickers.

So come on and join us at Just Us Girls – there’s some fabulous inspiration from the design team to get you started. You’ve got until Friday 27 May – we’d love to see what you create with these colours.
I love the style of those flowers and the graphic style to the card! So fun having you guest with us Deborah!

You conquered your discomfort and made a wonderful card, Deborah. I used to love to pick teasel along the side of the road to make arrangements.
