friendship

Welcome to my crafty blog. I’m firmly back in my CAS comfort zone today with this card, using the ‘art nouveau landscape’ stamp from Claritystamp. I’ve picked up a couple of challenges in designing this card – the colours palette is from Global Design Project together with the theme of ‘friendship’ from Addicted to CAS

I first stamped the landscape onto a 5×5 card blank with black Archival ink. I then set about colouring the image with Distress Oxides (I don’t have the SU colours) and a waterbrush – I used ‘dried marigold’, ‘ripe persimmon’ and ‘salvaged patina’. The great thing about using the Distress Oxides is that you can vary the depth of colour depending on how much water you have on your brush. You can also add shade by going back in with the ink once the first coat has dried. Once coloured, I went over the tree trunks with a black micron pen to fill them in.

I just added a word sticker to finish, so it’s not quite a one layer card.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m really pleased with how the colours turned out on this – it reminds me of the beautiful Art Deco pottery by Clarice Cliff. I love looking at the examples of her work when I manage to get to the V&A museum in London – here’s a couple of pots in her signature style.

  1. Wonderful card! Those colors are quite fabulous together in the focal image, and I adore the font of the sentiment! Thanks for joining in at ATCAS
