special day

Welcome to my crafty blog and a plethora of flowers today, thanks to Julie Hickey’s ‘daisy buttons’ and ‘floral buttons’ stamp sets. I’ve used the colours from Color Throwdown and the layout from Freshly Made Sketches for this card, teamed with the theme of ‘watercolouring’ from Inkspirational.

I started by brushing ‘stormy sky’ Distress Oxide across the Claritystamp clouds mask onto a square of white card. I blended ‘bundled sage’ onto a strip of white card and attached it to the topper, with a narrow strip of black card below it.

I stamped three of the floral circles from the two stamp sets using black Archival, then watercoloured them with a waterbrush and ‘kitsch flamingo’, ‘shaded lilac’ and ‘bundled sage’ Distress Oxides. Once dry I fussy cut them, then blended a little of the ‘stormy sky’ onto each one. I attached them to the card with foam pads.

I stamped the sentiment in black and then attached the whole piece to a 6×6 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m busy getting ready for a family lunch tomorrow to celebrate Easter (after what will no doubt be a joyful church celebration in the morning).
