Claritystamp craft club lookback – with love banner

Welcome to my crafty blog and the next in my weekly re-visit of Claritystamp’s craft club. Today it’s the ‘with love banner’ from Februay 2020 – I have to confess that I really wasn’t very taken with this at the time, but I think I’ve now found a good way to use it.

I started by masking off the ends of the banner before inking it, then stamped it onto a piece fo card that I’d trimmed to fit a 5×7 card blank. I cut a mask from an all-over sticky note to cover it up, and stamped ‘Tina’s floral spray’ over it, so the banner sat across the flower stems.

I used the ‘polished pink’ Write marker from Stampin’ Up! to colour the infill stamps for the flowers and added those first. I then used ‘rustic wilderness’ Distress Oxide to stamp the leaves in, and finally coloured the little sprigs and leaves with a ‘soft succulent’ Write marker. I added colour to the tiny flowers around the banner with the ‘polished pink’ and ‘soft succulent’ pens.

I inked the ‘with love’ sentiment in the ‘polished pink’ marker and stamped it into the banner, before attaching the topper to the card blank.

I’d often add clouds or hills in the background with Clarity’s masks, but decided this time to leave it plain – I think the pink flowers really pop on this one. I’m going to share it with CAS Colours and Sketches as I’ve used their lovely colour palette.

  1. The banner is just perfect with those stemmed florals Deborah – and I think leaving the background untouched adds to the clean feel of your card. Thanks for playing over at CAS Colours & Sketches this week!

  2. Such a beautiful image, fantastic job coloring as well. I love me some Barbara Gray – I had been following her Tuesday you tube videos for a bit before the pandemic hit, then the very day she premiered video 1 of the SHAC Shack, I was pulled into every video of every day for all the, to date, 257 videos. She has such a huge heart. She is a gem. Thanks for joining us at CC&S
