daffodil window

Welcome to my crafty blog and another daffodil themed card thanks to Stampin’ Up!’s ‘daffodil daydream’ set. I’ve used the new sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches, with the ‘saleabration’ theme from TGIF challenges. For the uninitiated, Stampin’ Up!’s ‘saleabration’ takes place when they launch a new min catalogue – you can get free products when you buy new stamps, and TGIF want us to incorporate one of those in a card.

I started with a piece of smooth white card, which I’d trimmed to fit a 5×7 card blank, and used a small square die to cut four apertures into it.

I stamped the daffodil spray, coloured it with my Pergaliner blending pencils and die cut it, before attaching it to the die cut card. I tucked the bottom of the stems into one of the square apertures and glued them to the middle of the four squares.

I cut a square of the ‘simply marbleous’ Saleabration paper and attached it behind the apertures, to look like sky. I then popped the whole piece onto the card blank.

I finished by stamping the sentiment in ‘forget-me-not’ Archival ink. The sharp-eyed amongst you will have noticed that I got a mark on my card front (not idea how!), but I managed to cover it with the sentiment.

Thanks for dropping in. I’ve had a great afternoon with my crafting buddy, prepping for our monthly craft group next week. We’re using these daffodil stamps and dies, so you may see a few more offerings over the days to come!
