Mother’s day plants

Welcome to my crafty blog and another card ready for Mother’s Day next month. This time I’ve used Stampin’ Up!’s ‘plentiful plants’ set, with the new sketch from Global Design Project and the inspiration photo from Just Add Ink. I’ve also incorporated the bottom row of sentiment / embellishment / die cut from TicTacToe‘s grid.

I started by putting together three plants & pots with a combination of stamps and die cuts from the ‘plentiful plants’ set. I don’t normally do much of this, but I have to say it’s very satisfying!

I ran a piece of white card through the SU ‘bricks & mortar’ embossing folder, mounted it onto a piece of ‘crumb cake’ card and attached the whole piece to a 5×7 card blank. I glued the plant pots into place following GDP’s sketch, which I’d reversed.

I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s ‘happy happy happy’ set in ‘evening evergreen’, trimmed the card pieces down and glued them onto the card front. The final touch was a few pink Glossies, to pick up the flowers on Just Add Ink’s cactus plant.

Very happy with this – I know not everyone likes loads of flowers. I’m also happy as I’ve had a first negative Covid test, so hoping for freedom tomorrow if I’m again negative! It’s been a long week…
