artistically die cut!

Hello crafty friends. I’m back with another ‘two-for-one’ post today, thanks to the ‘artistic’ dies from Stampin’ Up! and the colour palette from Color Throwdown. I sat for a while trying to decided which way round to use the colours for the floral die cut and in the end went for both!

I started by making a couple of A6 card blanks using SU’s ‘very vanilla’ cardstock, as I’ve only got white or black pre-made ones in my stash. I then cut the large floral die twice, once in red and once in the vanilla. I die cut one of the narrow rectangular frames from Julie Hickey’s dies in gold card, glued that onto one of the card fronts and popped the red die cut on top.

For the second card, I cut a mat in SU’s ‘real red’ cardstock, ran it through the ‘subtles’ embossing folder and attached it to the card front. I then glued the vanilla floral die cut onto it.

Next was to die cut a couple of banners in the vanilla and heat emboss the sentiment from the ‘art gallery’ set using WOW’s gold metallic super fine powder. They then went onto the cards using foam pads.

I just finished both cards with a few Glossies – gold ones for the cream flower and red ones for the red one. Here’s a couple of photos of the final versions, but I still don’t know which I like best – what do you think?
