eden’s garden

Hello crafty friends. Well, I decided that I really need to start using up some of the stash of designer papers I’ve got stored on my craft shelves – both of these cards use the new ‘Eden’s Garden’ series from Stampin’ Up! I’ve made two cards as the sketches at TGIF challenges and Inspire.Create are actually very similar, but I wanted to feature each of them separately. I’ve also included the elements from the central column on TicTacToe‘s grid (birthday, CAS & sparkle) on both cards.

I started with TGIF’s sketch and cut 1.5cm three strips from the ‘Eden’s Garden’ papers. I trimmed them into short lengths and attached to white card that I’d cut to fit an A6 card blank.

I brayered WOW clear ink onto a spare piece of white card and heat embossed it with ‘peridot’ sparkly embossing powder, then cut the small leaves from SU’s ‘Eden’ die set. I stamped the sentiment from ‘art gallery’ in evening evergreen’ onto a die cut banner (I used a Write marker, as I don’t have the ink pads), then laid the over the strips of dsp and glued the leaves into place. A few gold sparkly dots completed it.

Here’s a close up so you can see the sparkle on the leaves.

The second card uses Inspire.Create’s sketch – I just used two of the papers for this one and trimmed the ends of the strips into a banner shape before attaching to the card. I again stamped the sentiment onto a die cut banner and this time cut three sparkly leaf sprays to glue into place. Once again, the final touch was a few sparkly Glossies.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m really pleased with how these turned out – I must make better use of my pile of designer papers, although if it’s just the small strips like these that may take quite a long time!
