butterfly love

Hello crafty friends. I’m back today with a card for friends who’ll be celebrating their wedding anniversary soon. I’ve combined three challenges for this one – the colours from Global Design Project, the theme of ‘summer’ from Just Add Ink and Time Out‘s topic of ‘in love’.

I thought Global Design Project’s colours were perfect for a summery theme, and butterflies definitely fit as well. I used Stampin’ Up!’s ‘butterfly gala’ set, but started with a square of card cut to fit a 5×5 card blank. I scribbled some ink from a ‘pool party’ Write Marker onto my blending mat and brushed it onto the card using a waterbrush. I die cut a heart frame with a couple of Claritystamp’s nested dies and glued it onto the card front.

I stamped several of the butterflies onto SU’s ‘expressions in ink’ DSP. One of the sheets is a blend of ‘pale papaya’ and another has swirls of ‘polished pink’ with gold foil. I punched them out and then added a bit more depth of colour with my Write Markers.

I stamped the sentiment using a couple of little Julie Hickey stamps and then glued the butterflies into place.

I think this looks really summery, which is perfect as my friends live in Australia. Thanks for dropping in – see you tomorrow.
