12 Dies of Clarity day 9 – happy birthday musical notes

Hello crafty friends and welcome to day 9 of my 12 Dies of Clarity challenge, with the ‘happy birthday musical notes’ dies from September’s Craft Club. I have to confess this is another set that hadn’t see action until now! I really like the little stave of notes that are the first line of ‘happy birthday’ (although I don’t think they’re in the right key…!)

I started with the card on the right of the photo and cut both dies out of black cardstock, having put an adhesive sheet on the back. I attached them to a piece of white card and stamped the ‘art nouveau’ sentiment between them in ‘bluebird’ Archival ink.

I then stamped the ‘linocut teasel’ onto a 6×6 card blank in the ‘bluebird’ and added the leaves in ‘sky blue’, which I also used for the infill stamp on the flower head.

All I then needed to do was attach the die cut topper over the stamped flowers. Very easy!

I’m going to share this one with the new challenge at Inspire.Create, where their theme is ‘birthday’. I love the notes above the sentiment on this – although, now I think about it, I should probably have also stamped ‘to you’ alongside it, so the whole musical phrase was picked up. Must remember that for next time!

For the second card, I started with the die from the Craft Club in June 2020 and cut it into a piece of ‘Antarctica’ designer card. I trimmed it down with scissors so just the narrow inner part of the frame was left and attached it to a piece of black card. That then went on the centre of a 6x6x card blank.

I cut four of the piano keys die, and then lined them up around the central square to form a frame. I do like a bit of a pun on a card!

I’m now three quarters of the way through this little challenge – thanks for sticking with me. See you tomorrow for day 10!
