Hello crafty friends. Welcome to day 4 of my 12 Dies of Clarity personal challenge, and today it’s the turn of the ‘frilly embellishments’ dies designed by Linda Williams. These would obviously work well with parchment, but I’ve used them with cardstock to make sentiment toppers for my cards.

For the first card, I attached the ‘snowdrop doodle’ round stencil to a white square that I’d trimmed down to fit a 5×5 card blank. I used a small piece of masking tape on the centre to hold it in place (it’s a frameless stencil), which didn’t matter as the die cut topper would be going over that part, and then brushed Distress Oxides in ‘speckled egg’, ‘salvaged patina’ and ‘chipped sapphire’ across it, starting with the lightest one in the middle.

I mounted the square onto a card blank and then just die cut the topper, stamped one of ‘Barbara’s handwriting’ sentiments onto it and attached it to the card with foam pads.

The second card was even easier. I started with a piece of ‘Barb’s favourites – Toscana’ paper and trimmed it to fit an A6 card blank. I mounted it onto a layer or purple card and attached it to the card blank.

I cut the panel die in purple card and added a strip of white across the centre, after stamping the sentiment onto it. That then went onto the front of the card – nice and easy!

Sadly, it’s the time of year when I’m needing sympathy cards, but it’s good to also get some more thank you cards under my belt, ready to get in the post.
These are just beautiful!
