Hello crafty friends. I decided to play with another of my new purchases today – this is the ginko stamp set that Claritystamp released last month & I finally succumbed to! My friends will also be able to confirm that I’ve gone with my favourite colour palette on this one as well, inspired by the tones in the backing paper.
I started with a piece of designer paper from ‘Barb’s favourites – Antarctica’ by Claritystamp and cut it down to fit a 5×7 card blank. I then stamped the large ginko leaf spray onto it in ‘watering can’ Archival. I had a bit of trouble with this in getting the centres of the leaves to stamp clearly – I had a couple of goes at it as I was using my stamping platform. Although the leaf centres are not solid, I decided it was OK as I was going to add colour to them.

I lined up the co-ordinating stencil and held it in place with some low tack tape. I used sponges to blend colour onto the leaves, using Artistry inks in ‘tenacious teal’, ‘ocean reef’ and ‘golden turmeric’ – they looked like good matches for the colours in the background.

I used a pencil to add some shading under the leaves, smoothing it out with a Pergamano blending nib, then attached it to a layer of teal card before putting it on the 5×7 card blank.

I finished it with one of Clarity’s word stickers, mounted on a small piece of the teal card, and a few Glossies.

All done! I seem to be miraculously on track for Christmas – sorted the food shopping today, so tomorrow will just be the final tidying up. Mind you, whenever I seem to be on schedule, it generally means I’ve forgotten something, so I’ll now spend the rest of the evening trying to figure out what that might be!
A really lovely card! Thanks for the info on how you madeit.

thank you! No – it’s completely flat!! I shaded underneath the leaves with pencil to create a drop shadow 😀
