a floral thank you

Hello crafty friends. I thought I’d better make a start on some thank you cards, now all the Christmas ones are sorted! I’ve picked up the colours from the current Color Throwdown challenge and used them with Julie Hickey’s ‘florals for you’ set.

I started with an A6 card blank and blended some ‘picked raspberry’ Distress Oxide onto the centre. I felt it looked a bit plain though, so brushed a little more of the pink through Claritystamp’s ‘oriental vine’ stencil. I thought the shape of the flowers on this matched the one in the stamp set.

I stamped one of the ‘florals for you’ flowers onto a spare piece of white card and coloured it with a waterbrush & Distress Oxides in ‘festive berries’ and ‘rustic wilderness’. Once dry, I fussy cut it and the attached it to the card front with foam pads (plus a little glue at the bottom of the stem).

I finished by stampin the sentiment onto the card front and added a few red Glossies.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m still not quite ready for Christmas – present wrapping tonight!
