Christmas wishes!

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my second post of the day – I’m catching up with myself! These little cats are part of the latest November set from Claritystamp’s die Craft Club, and I love them – you can just see the energy and intent in their outlines. They are obviously perfect (should that be purrfect…?!) for the current theme of ‘pets’ over at As You See It challenge and I’ve teamed that with AAA cards‘s challenge of ‘along one edge’ plus the colour palette from this week’s Global Design Project

challenge #264

I started wiht Clarity’s ‘trees and their mantles’ set on a square of white card. I don’t have any mint green inks, so the nearest match I could get was ‘iced spruce’ Distress Oxide which I used to stamp the ground and the skeleton of the tree. I then added the mantle to the tree in ‘rustic wilderness’.

I die cut two of the little cats from the set in black card (it has 3 cats and 3 dogs) and glued them at the bottom of the tree, then attached the whole piece to a 5×5 card blank.

I finished by adding some little red adhesive gems to the tree for the Christmas lights, plus one that the cats have already pulled off! The sentiment on one of Clarity’s word stickers seemed ideal – I think it perfectly sums up the cats’ attitude!

Any cat owners amongst you will recognise the reality of this image! We put our tree up at the weekend and Benji-cat has been far too interested in the lights. Fortunately it’s just a fairly small tree planted in a bucket so I don’t think he’ll be able to pull it over – at least I hope not…! I’ll let you know if it survives until Christmas.

  1. Those die cut kitties are just ADORABLE! So lovely – and so real in the way they’re drawn to the tree’s baubles. I like the clean look you’ve achieved. Thanks for joining in with us again at As You See It Challenge.

  3. So cute, Deborah – those little kitties are certainly perfectly posed, lol. Our cats were always fascinated by our tree – I can see these guys working their way up to some mischief! Love your colors and design – the edge detail is perfect! Thanks so much for playing at AYSI!

  4. Such a universal problem for cat owners, however, our cats are so old now that they would rather sleep under the tree than play with the baubles on it! lol I like your little tree image with the sparkly baubles. I hope your real tree survives the holidays with Benji-cat, Deborah! Good luck! Thanks for playing our theme challenge at As You See It Challenges!

  5. What a delightful take on the along the edge theme! I love those kitties! Yes, this is the purrfect illustration of why we won’t be having a tree this year. My fifteen year old has never done anything other than lay under it. Her three year old sister, on the other hand, refuses to outgrow kittenhood.
