Welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s Christmas card uses the stockings stamp set, one of Claritystamp’s ‘Christmas rounds’. I’ve gone for a slightly less traditional colour scheme on this card with the grey, but I rather like it. I took inspiration from three current challenges – the photo over at Just Add Ink, the layout from Freshly Made Sketches and the theme (plaid) from Inkspirational.

I started by training down a piece of grey tartan paper. mounted it on a gold layer and then attached them to a 6×6 card blank.

I then stamped the stockings round onto white card and heat embossed it with WOW’s ‘metallic gold’ powder. I cut it out with a nested circle die and then coloured the wall behind the stockings using ‘hickory smoke’ Distress Oxide. I cut a larger circle in grey card and mounted the stamped image onto it.

I finished by cutting a strip of white card, adding one of Clarity’s word stickers to it and then attaching the stockings round across it using foam pads. The final touch was a to add a few gold dots.

Thanks for dropping in – see you tomorrow with another creation
