Hello crafty friends. No Christmas card today – it’s Sunday so I’ve dipped back into the Clarity Craft Club back issues for the dandelion stamp from September 2017. The Clarity team have shared some desperately sad news this weekend as Ani, one of their designers, has died after a very short illness. She was not old and leaves a young daughter – her loss will have hit the team very hard. Ani had drawn some of Clarity’s iconic stamps, and Barbara & Grace have asked the Clarity community to share cards using Ani’s stamps this weekend – I decided to pair the dandelion with her ‘fly away girl’ from the ‘carpe diem’ stamp set.
I started by blending Distress Oxides in ‘speckled egg’, ‘salvaged patina’, ‘antique linen’ and ‘walnut stain’ onto a piece of Clarity’s stencil card. I trimmed it down to fit on a 6×6 card blank and then popped one of the ‘riverside landscape’ masks across the bottom so I could blend some more of the ‘walnut stain’ across it to give me the tree line.

I masked off the bird, on the ‘fly away girl’ stamp and added her above the trees in ‘bluebird’ Archival ink. I then stamped the dandelion so she looked like she was holding the stalk and heat embossed it with WOW’s ‘vanilla’ powder. I masked the dandelion stamp with a sticky note so I could just ink the little one at the top of the image and then repeat stamped that around the girl, again embossing it with the ‘vanilla’ powder.

I mounted the piece onto cream card to give a very narrow border, and then attached it to a 6×6 kraft card blank. The final touch was to add one of Clarity’s word stickers, which I blended with a little ‘salvaged patina’.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m going to share this over at Just Us Girls, as I’ve used their colour palette.

I’m so sorry to hear about Ani. You card is beautiful.
