Hello crafty friends – you might be surprised to see that I’m back with another Christmas card today! This time it’s Julie Hickey’s ‘holly jolly Christmas’ stamp, with the layout from Global Design Project and the colours from CAS Colours and Sketches

I started by stamping the holly onto a piece of white card and heat embossed it with WOW’s metallic silver powder. I then it with Distress Oxides and a waterbrush – ‘rustic wilderness’ for the leaves and ‘picked raspberry’ for the berries. And yes, I do know that holly berries aren’t usually pink, but let’s not argue about that!

I trimmed the stamped card down, cut a mat in dark green card and then mounted them both onto an A6 card blank.

I finished by cutting one of the sentiments from Julie Hickey’s ‘Christmas Profile’ dies and then attached it to the card front. Three small silver dots were the final touch.

Now if you’re still feeling a bit disconcerted by my pink holly berries, I did find a plant called a snowberry (Symphoricarpos), which has a pink variety. Maybe I’m not so far off after all!

What a fabulous panel you created Deborah – and I love the pink berries! Thanks for sharing with us over at CAS Colours & Sketches this week!
