amazing day

Hello crafty friends. Today’s card is a masculine one, using Claritystamp’s ‘deerscape’ aperture die. I love the way this cuts the scene into the card – I’ve got the matching stamp as well (I am a stamper at heart) but this die gives such a brilliant sharp outline. I’ve taken inspiration for this one from a couple of blog challenges – the colours are from Color Throwdown and the layout from Freshly Made Sketches

I started with a piece of smooth white card and Clarity’s clouds mask. I brushed ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide and ‘rusticana’ Artistry Ink across the mask to pick up two of the challenge colours, adding in a moon mask as well.

I made an A6 card blank from dark brown card and die cut the deerscape into the front.

I then used a Versamark pen to add ink to the stags’ antlers and heat embossed them with WOW’s metallic gold powder. I drew a Versamark line along the edge of the hill as well and embossed that in the gold. I then attached the background card behind the image using glue.

The final touch was to heat emboss a sentiment from Julie Hickey’s ‘positive wishes’ set in gold onto the brown card, mount it on a gold layer and attach it to the card front.

Thanks for dropping in. I rather like the effect of putting gold on the antlers – I may well be doing this again!

  1. Hi Deborah, I’d like to order one of these deer scape cards please, as a Christmas card for Ian. Particularly liked the gold effect! Let me know how much it is please. Thanks, Catherine x
