Hello crafty friends. It’s Sunday so time for another dip back into the Claritystamp new design club – this time for the ‘we go together…’ sentiment from July 2017. I’ve picked up the theme and sketch from this week’s challenge at Inspired by (this sentiment definitely says ‘friendship’ to me), together with the centre row of autumn/free/wreath from TicTacToe‘s grid.

I started with the two way overlay oak leaf stamp from Clarity (it’s quite an old one and I’m not sure if it’s still available). I blended Distress Oxides in ‘mowed lawn’, ‘ripe persimmon’ and ‘mustard seed’ onto the infill stamp using sponges, and then stamped the outline image over the top in ‘potting soil’ Archival ink. I find overlay stamps easier to do this way round, rather than stamping the outline first.

I then sat quietly for about half an hour as I fussy cut 12 of the leaves for my wreath – I must admit it was quite therapeutic! I found a suitable inky background in my stash and trimmed it down to fit a 6×6 card blank. So I could get my wreath balanced I used a circle die to draw a pencil outline on the background.

I then glued the leaves into place around the circle. I just stuck them at the stem end, so the wreath had a 3D effect.

I mounted the background onto a piece of dark brown card and attached it to the card blank. I had a small piece of the inky background spare so stamped the sentiment onto it using the ‘potting soil’ and trimmed around it before putting it on the card front using foam pads. A few green resin dots finished it off.
