Hello crafty friends. Well my resolution to share today’s card earlier in the evening has failed miserably! Never mind, it’s the thought that counts as they say, so here’s a thank you card I’ve made using Stampin’ Up!’s ‘art gallery’ set and ‘expressions in ink’ paper. The current challenge at Festive Friday picks up World Kindness Day, which is on November 13th – I’ve incorporated flowers. embossing and a thank you sentiment from their inspiration list. I’ve also used the layout from Fusion card challenge, and tied in the ‘thank you’ from their inspiration photo.

I bought the Stampin’ Up! ‘expressions in ink’ papers a few months ago, but hadn’t used them yet – they’re so lovely I just want to sit and stroke them! I decided it was time I took a deep breath and went for it, so I trimmed a piece of the green and gold paper down to fit an A6 card blank.

I then stamped the large flower from the ‘art gallery set in ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide. I used the two layering stamps first (drying the ink in between with my heat gun) and then stamped the small centre with WOW clear ink and heat embossed it in metallic gold powder, to reflect the gold effect on the backing paper. Once dry I die cut it out.

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from the set, again with the metallic gold, onto a die cut banner and glued it onto the flower. The whole piece then went onto the card front using foam pads.

I took another photo at more of an angle so you can really see the gold on the flower, sentiment and paper.

Deborah, this paper is so pretty and I love the way you continued with the gold on the flower and sentiment on this beautiful card! Thanks for joining us at Festive Friday Challenge. I hope you keep joining us. We have a new challenge every other Friday. Blessings, Beth 🙂

Love the way the gold ties your flower to the background Deborah – I’m sure that paper feels like cheating to you, given your ability to create an artsy background is second to none! Love it! Thanks for sharing with us at Festive Friday this week!
